What is TimeDirect?
TimeDirect is an online personnel time and expense tracking service. Timesheets, expense reports, approvals, and management reporting are delivered right to your browser. We also have features to allow your customers to review their billed hours and request quotes for additional work.

Do you sell software?
No. TimeDirect is a monthly subscription service. There’s nothing to install, maintain, upgrade, or secure. You won’t need IT staff, servers, or software! Your application is available 24/7 from any internet connected desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

Are there any long-term contracts?
No. TimeDirect is billed on a month by month basis and you can cancel at any time.

Do I have to buy separate modules or apps to get all the features?
No. The TimeDirect service includes everything in one package. There are no add-on charges or special configurations. You get time and expense tracking, management approvals and reporting, administrative reporting, as well as the customer billing access and quote request functions. If you need something you don’t see here, contact us and we’ll try to help you on a case-by-case basis. We have done many custom installations.

What industries is TimeDirect best suited?
Just about any business that requires their personnel to record work hours and expenses is a perfect fit for TimeDirect. In particular, TimeDirect is well suited for staffing agencies, law firms, field workers, manufacturers, energy industries, banking, education, and pharmaceutical offices – to name just a few.

Where is my data? Can I retrieve it if I cancel?
We store your data in an SQL Server database in a limited access secure hosting facility. Your time and expense data can be downloaded from the Administrator functions within your application in a variety of formats. We can also provide custom data downloads on a case by case basis.

What if an employee leaves my company? Do I still have to pay for their account?
When an employee leaves your company, you can inactivate their login and account, but their time and expense information remains for reporting purposes. We do not charge for personnel login accounts that are inactivated.

How do we initially set up service with jobs, etc?
An administrator from your company sets up your jobs, customers, personnel, expenses, tasks, facilities, and departments through the application. Also, the administrator will assign jobs to personnel, tasks and expenses to jobs, as well as billing and pay rates per task.

What is the Customer Access Billing Review feature?
The customer access feature allows you to set up login accounts for your customers to view billing for time and expenses for their jobs. You have complete control over the jobs that are visible, and who can see them. They will be able to see dollar amounts for approved hours and expenses against their jobs as time passes, and compare them to agreed upon budget targets. This is a great way to avoid billing surprises!

What is the Customer Quote Request feature?
Along with Customer Access to view billing info, you can also allow your customers to submit quotes requests to you for additional work! This simple process provides the customer with a screen to give you a description of the work to be performed, as well as a ballpark budget price. An administrator from your company can respond with a quote dollar amount, or request more information. This dialog goes back and forth until you reach an acceptable engagement. This is a great way to encourage more business!

Does TimeDirect invoice my customers?
TimeDirect is not an invoicing system. You can however run extensive reports that will give you all the information you need to create invoices through a system of your choice.

Is TimeDirect a payroll system?
TimeDirect is not a payroll system. You can however run extensive reports that will give you all the information you need to pay your personnel and reimburse them for expenses. The reports will also compare your billed amounts to your customers to the amounts paid to your personnel to see which activities are profitable, and which are not.

Does TimeDirect provide training?
TimeDirect is simple enough to use that you should not need to waste time on training classes or reading long manuals. On-screen instructions and an intuitive interface guide you through the process. We will do online GoToMeeting sessions if you would like to have additional instruction in any aspect of the service.
